Are you looking for a fabric brand that stands out for its high quality raw materials, careful processing, and incomparably pleasant feel? The Italian fabric manufacturer Loro Piana combines all these qualities. At bespoke tailoring C. Weilert, we want to create fashion for our customers that excites and meets their high standards. For this, we select our partners very carefully. Loro Piana is one of the most luxurious fabric manufacturers that we would gladly recommend to you.

Loro Piana Fabrics for Men

As a weaving mill, Loro Piana has defined three essential areas for which it requires excellent raw materials: furniture, knitwear, and of course, clothing. For this, the brand sources its materials from various regions of the world to produce luxurious products for domestic and international markets. In addition to cashmere and merino wool, this also includes cotton and linen.

Loro Piana Cashmere

Cashmere from Loro Piana is among the rarest and most luxurious fabrics available and is the brand's flagship product. The raw material comes from goats in Mongolia and Northern China, where winters are harsh and cold, and summers are dry. To survive, these goats have developed a particularly robust, yet soft coat. The undercoat consists of very fine hair, which reduces heat exchange and thus provides excellent warmth. The fabric made from this wool is incomparably soft and pliable, making it ideal for suits, coats, and jackets.

Baby Cashmere

Cashmere wool itself is already one of the softest materials available. It is only surpassed by the wool of young cashmere goats. These produce baby cashmere wool, which is very limited in availability, as young goats can only be shorn once in their lives, at six months old, before they grow an adult goat's coat. Only 30 grams of raw wool can be spun, about one-sixth of that from an adult animal. This makes baby cashmere a particularly luxurious material for your suit.

Tasmanian Wool Tasmanian®

This light wool fabric became extremely popular in the 1960s. It weighs only 250 grams per meter and is made from wool originating from the small island of Tasmania off the Australian coast. To this day, the term Tasmanian® has even become synonymous in Italian with noble, very soft, and flowing wool. The wool is particularly well suited for suits worn outdoors, as well as for warm coats.

Merino Wool – Loro Piana Zelander®

Loro Piana Zelander® is made from a very robust fiber that comes from New Zealand Merino sheep. Thanks to exclusive spinning and weaving techniques, this raw wool is transformed into a soft, durable fabric designed to withstand even stressful situations. This makes Loro Piana Merino wool for men a good choice for suits, especially wedding suits, but also for coats.

Pecora Nera® Wool from Black Merino Sheep

Pecora Nera® is the result of 20 years of breeding the ancient Black Merino sheep breed. A New Zealand farmer has dedicated himself to preserving this breed and has restored the original color and texture of the wool through targeted breeding. Thus, Pecora Nera® is a very soft, lightweight wool that is comfortable to wear and very durable. Loro Piana fabric made from Pecora Nera® varies in natural, dark tones and is characterized by very good insulation against cold.

Lama Hair from the Andes Loro Piana Vicuña

The noble Vicuña wool is obtained from wild llamas in the Peruvian Andes. Since each animal only yields about 200 grams of raw wool every two years, Vicuña is one of the most valuable fabrics for men's fashion. The llama hair is particularly soft and has good breathability, as it must protect the animals from cold and wind at an altitude of over 4,000 meters.

Adapted for Every Situation The Loro Piana Fabric System

At Loro Piana, constant research is conducted into the best fabrics and their processing. The company has thus designed its own System line, where classic, natural fabrics are further processed into hyper-functional materials with the help of exclusive processing methods and additional, highly effective membranes. This enables a new generation of comfortable, soft fabrics that combine elegance and functionality.

The membranes developed by Loro Piana for men are applied to the back of the fabrics, where they reliably protect against wind, water, and rain and ensure a comfortable wearing experience. These membranes are very thin, breathable, and elastic, so they are barely noticeable and allow maximum freedom of movement. To be prepared for every situation, the brand has developed various fabric systems:

Rain System®

These membranes allow any natural fabric to be made water-repellent. This protects the fabric from rain and also makes it robust against dust, dirt, and stains, visibly extending the fabric's lifespan.

Storm System®

Going a step further than the Rain System is the Storm System®. It protects the fibers from all elements and is waterproof, windproof, and breathable. It was specially developed for fabrics consisting of only a single layer of material.

Green Storm System®

This system is particularly environmentally friendly and protects the fibers from environmental influences. It contains the Rain System® as well as a biological, hydrophilic membrane consisting of a unique polyurethane fiber and containing more than 50% biodegradable, plant-based materials. This makes fabrics waterproof and windproof, highly breathable, and biologically compatible.

Clima System®

This innovative system provides unparalleled thermal protection. It combines noble natural fibers with a graphene membrane. Graphene is the thinnest material in the world and particularly effectively retains body heat. It guarantees a comfortable wearing experience as it distributes body heat eight times faster than other Loro Piana membranes. Men who spend a lot of time outdoors also benefit from the water and wind-repellent membrane.

Environmental Protection at Loro Piana

In addition to excellent fabric quality, Loro Piana prioritizes the efficient use of natural raw materials and minimizing environmental impact. This includes protecting local water resources, using solar energy, and a manufacturing process where every fiber is processed into a high-quality fabric. This means for you: elegant Loro Piana clothing made from high-quality fabric, without causing environmental damage.
