Florence in Salmone" handkerchief made from pure silk

Steeped in history, the Italian city of Florence is rightly one of the most famous and incredible cities in Europe. This pocket square takes the wearer on a journey through some of the city's most popular locations - around the main vignette overlooking the Duomo, the four quadrants depict scenes of Ponte Vecchio, Santa Croce, Palazzo Uffizi and Piazza Delle Signoria. The geometric motifs and patterns in the corners and surrounding borders were taken directly from motifs found in and around the cathedral itself. The outer border shows a Tuscan landscape inspired by the famous "Procession of the Magi" fresco in the Palazzo Medici in Florence.

This work was drawn entirely by hand in pen and ink on paper before being digitally rendered and colored.
