Why a tailor-made suit can save your wedding day

People talk about building a house, planting a tree, and having a child once in a lifetime. Have you ever thought that having a tailor-made suit made should also be on this list? Your wedding day is the perfect occasion to put this plan into action. After all, who doesn't want to feel comfortable and relaxed on this special day? A well-fitting suit is essential for this, because nothing can ruin beautiful wedding photos like a crooked jacket, an ill-fitting bow tie, and the feeling of not being able to move freely. We take your measurements, provide you with comprehensive advice, and help you make the most beautiful day of your life unforgettable.

Type-appropriate: Choose your ensemble for the wedding

Not all suits are the same, so you are literally spoiled for choice. However, there are a few pointers to help you choose the right wedding suit for you. First things first: anything goes, as long as you like it and it suits you, because, as with many things, the wedding suit depends on your preferences.

Classic and stylish: pants, jacket, and vest

For many men, the most obvious choice is the classic three-piece suit. This consists of a jacket, matching trousers, and a coordinating waistcoat. This ensemble is classic and flatters every size and figure, making it particularly suitable for men who rarely wear suits. The three-piece suit is particularly suitable for traditional and church weddings and can be perfectly coordinated with a wedding dress thanks to accessories such as ties and pocket squares.

The jacket must be tailored to fit perfectly and be form-fitting, because nothing spoils the romance more than crooked jacket shoulders and unsightly wrinkles on the back. Length also plays a role: the jacket should at least cover the buttocks, but exactly how long depends on your figure, your style, and your personal preferences.

In addition to a loose fit, the right length is also important for trousers: the end of the trouser legs should just touch the top of your foot to ensure a really good fit. With a few exceptions, such as the modern fit, we recommend a slightly longer trouser leg to achieve an attractive drape.

Modern duo: pants and vest

This combination is becoming increasingly common: simple pants with a vest in the same color, paired with suspenders depending on the style. suspenders, a bow tie, and perhaps a hat. This modern, minimalist suit variation is a safe choice, especially for retro weddings, but also for country weddings.

In addition to ensuring that your pants fit perfectly, you should also make sure that your vest fits correctly: it should be snug yet comfortable, so that it does not restrict your movement when dancing or sitting.

The focus of this combination is on the shirt, which, just like a jacket, should fit well, especially at the shoulders. It is worth having a custom-made shirt.

Stylish and elegant: the tuxedo

The most elegant option for a men's wedding suit is the tuxedo. The jacket is single- or double-breasted and is usually paired with a white vest. A silk lapel is a popular choice, as it contrasts stylishly with the rest of the jacket. Silk or satin is also found on the outer legs of tuxedo trousers in the form of a stripe, known as braiding. This creates a harmonious ensemble and gives the tuxedo its unique, distinguished charm.

A cummerbund is also a popular accessory for tuxedos, emphasizing the festive nature of the occasion. The pleats of this fabric belt also cleverly conceal a slight paunch.

The right material for wedding suits

When choosing the right fabric for your wedding suit, you can give free rein to your personal taste and the feel of the fabric. We recommend choosing matte fabrics rather than shiny ones, as matte fabrics look more festive and do not overshadow the wedding dress.

The theme of the wedding will also help you find the right fabric: light linen and cotton are ideal for a summer wedding in the countryside, on the beach, or even the popular boho weddings. They are breathable and offer plenty of room for movement. Here, you can also consider simpler chinos as an alternative to suit pants.

A classic style is often expected for winter weddings and church weddings. Regardless of whether you opt for a tuxedo or a classic tailor-made suit, we recommend high-quality wool or blended fabrics. Both look very festive and make your tailor-made suit robust and durable. If you want to make a particularly elegant impression, you can opt for pure silk. This fabric is cool in summer and warm in winter, making it a true all-rounder. Cashmere suits are also becoming increasingly popular.

Gray, black, blue, or beige? – These colors are suitable for a men's wedding suit.

Unlike in the past, when suits were still part of everyday attire for men, today's grooms are free to choose the color of their wedding suit. Of course, it is important to coordinate with your partner and the wedding theme.

Black or navy blue suits are true classics for the groom. They suit all men and can be combined with ties, pocket squares and cufflinks . We particularly recommend dark colors for church weddings, as a classic atmosphere is often desired here.

However, brown and gray are also becoming increasingly popular for wedding suits. A gray or brown vest looks particularly stylish if the groom prefers not to wear a jacket. Gray tones are often chosen for rustic or vintage weddings and combined with pastel colors. Checked fabrics are also a popular choice here.

If the wedding is taking place in summer or even on the beach, you can also opt for a white suit. White tuxedos are no longer a rarity and are often worn with pastel-colored shirts. This is particularly popular if the bride is not wearing a white dress.
