A tuxedo is the most formal type of evening wear and is worn at events explicitly designated as “black tie”: galas, opera premieres, formal weddings starting at 6 p.m., balls, and state receptions. A classic suit is sufficient for business and less formal festive occasions. A tuxedo can be recognized by its silk satin lapels, silk piping on the trousers, and covered buttons.

Our custom-made tuxedos start at €999.00. The final price is determined solely by your choice of outer fabric and—if desired—an optional lining. All craftsmanship details, such as silk satin lapels, covered buttons, hand-stitching, and full-canvas construction, are already included in the price. We will provide you with a binding quote during a personal consultation in Düsseldorf.

Yes, we also tailor the perfect tuxedo shirt to your measurements—our shirts are crafted with the finest attention to detail. Custom-made tuxedo shirts start at €199.00. Whether you prefer a classic tuxedo shirt with a smooth front or a pleated tuxedo shirt with a pleated front—you choose the fabric quality, collar style, and cuffs. They are made from the finest Egyptian cotton or poplin by Albini or Thomas Mason. We also offer silk bow ties (with monogram upon request), cummerbunds, cufflinks, and pocket squares—the complete black-tie look from a single source.

The standard delivery time is 4–6 weeks from the date of the on-site measurement. For special occasions with tighter deadlines, we offer express production upon request—please contact us well in advance.

Both styles are appropriate for black-tie occasions. The shawl collar is considered the historically authentic and slightly softer, classically elegant option—ideal for weddings and private galas. The peak lapel has a more formal and austere look—the classic choice for the opera, receptions, and very formal evenings. If you’re unsure, we’d be happy to advise you personally.

For tuxedos, we typically use very fine virgin wool fabrics ranging from Super 150's to Super 200's—and in some cases, wool-silk blends that create a distinctive sheen and elegant drape. We also use mohair blends and barathea fabrics. For white dinner jackets, we also use linen-wool blends. High-quality fabrics from the mills Loro Piana, Ermenegildo Zegna, or Reda are available for selection.

Yes—white or colored dinner jackets are traditionally paired with separate black tuxedo pants. So you can order individual pieces or put together a complete tuxedo. We’ll help you choose the right combination for your occasion.

The first appointment lasts about 60–90 minutes. We’ll discuss your event, choose the fabric, lapels, and details together, take precise measurements using our fitting patterns, and confirm the delivery time. After 4–6 weeks, you’ll have a fitting for your custom-tailored tuxedo—any necessary alterations will be made by our men’s tailor.
