Fused, half or
full canvas explained.
A fine made-to-measure suit makes a statement. All three of our lines come with full-canvas construction using horsehair interlining as standard.
Fused construction
The least expensive method bonds the interlining to the outer fabric with textile adhesive. Production is quick, but there are clear drawbacks.
- Limited flexibility and a stiff fit

Half canvas
A combination of fused and sewn interlining from the shoulders to the middle of the jacket. Better than fused construction, but below our standard.

The highest-quality method, included in all three of our lines. The entire horsehair interlining is sewn in from shoulder to hem.

Fabric gives your suit its character. We work exclusively with the world's most respected mills, so your suit is made from the finest materials the textile industry offers.
Ermenegildo Zegna controls every stage of production, from selecting the merino wool to the finished fabric. Its MilMil fabrics are among the finest the textile industry produces worldwide.

How much does a made-to-measure suit cost at Christian Weilert?
Linea Iniziale starts at €999.00, Linea Sartoriale at €1,299.00 and Linea Maestria Italiana at €2,299.00. Only the fabric you choose determines the price. There are no extra charges for design options.
How long is delivery?
Allow 6–8 weeks. Express production is available on request.
What is full canvas?
In full canvas construction, the entire horsehair interlining is sewn in from shoulder to hem. The suit molds to your body and holds its shape for years. At Christian Weilert, it is standard in all three lines, at no extra charge.
How does the process work?
We start with a detailed consultation in Düsseldorf or at your location, select fabric and details together, and take precise measurements. This is followed by a fitting and final adjustments.
Can I personalize every detail?
Yes. From Linea Sartoriale upward, you can choose from more than 5,000 fabrics and specify every detail at no extra charge. Only your fabric choice determines the price.
Where is the atelier?
Our atelier is in Düsseldorf. We can also arrange appointments at your home or office.
What is Linea Maestria Italiana?
Our finest line, made entirely in Italy. Prices start at €2,299.00, with delivery in 6–8 weeks. It is a tribute to the great masters of Italian tailoring.
Do you also make wedding suits?
Yes. Made-to-measure wedding suits are a specialty of our atelier. All three lines are suitable for special occasions.
