At the foot of Mount Etna lies Catania, and anyone walking through its streets immediately understands the meaning of black stone. After being devastated by eruption and earthquake, the city was completely rebuilt in the 18th century – using the basaltic lava stone of the volcano that had destroyed it. Today, its baroque facades, churches, and fountains shine in a black that shimmers almost blue in the sunlight and disappears into itself at night.

This tie wears the same black. The Garza Grossa makes it three-dimensional: The open silk weave catches the light and reflects it, so that no two blacks are alike. Sometimes deep, sometimes almost anthracite, always with character. 100% pure silk, 7-fold, entirely handmade, hand-rolled edges, open tip. Made in Italy.
