The blue in front of the Grotta Azzurra on Capri, so intense that everything else pales beside it: this tie has exactly that blue. A shade that gets noticed. Anyone who wears it has made a choice, and in shiny silk it would be too much. The matte Madder finish softens its edge and lets the color stand without glowing.

The medallions in copper and light blue soften the severity of the ground color. Copper is the more interesting choice than gold: it stays earthier and connects with brown leather on shoes and watch straps. With gray in any shade and with medium brown; with navy blue only if the suit is distinctly darker than the tie.
